Explore the region

The Périgord has a lot to offer, with some of the most beautiful tourist sites in France, as well as typical villages nearby, less touristy but full of charm and wonders to discover.

Our neighbours, the Lot and Corrèze, also have a wealth of treasures to offer, giving you the chance to discover the surrounding countryside on your way there.

Nature is waiting to welcome you with open arms, thanks to its many hiking trails. If you’re into outdoor activities but not a keen walker, the Souillac golf course and water sports on the Dordogne, Vézère or Lac du Causse await you.

Our region is renowned for its gastronomy, and we can recommend some excellent local producers and restaurants to suit all budgets.

Not forgetting some of the most beautiful gardens in France: the gardens at Eyrignac (15 km), “de l’imaginaire” at Terrasson (15 km) or “suspendus” at Marqueyssac (40 km), a more distant one overlooking the Dordogne valley and offering a unique view…

For those looking for a different way to recharge their batteries, there are a number of Buddhist centres, including the Dhagpo Kagyu Lang European Centre for Buddhist Studies and Meditation, in the commune of Saint Léon sur Vézère.

Numerous museums, including the international prehistory museum at Les Eyzies, and caves, such as the impressive Gouffre de Padirac, will also attract your curiosity … and your need for coolness on a hot day.

Golf lovers will not be left out with the Souillac Golf Club (20 km): in the north of the Lot, on the border of the Dordogne and Corrèze departments. Magnificent 18-hole golf course with 9 swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurant…
